What is BIM
BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a design methodology where all project sections are integrated into a single parametric building model. Every element — wall, column, window, engineering pipe — carries data about material, volume, cost and characteristics.
Not just a 3D model
3D models show geometry. BIM models store data: the concrete grade of a specific column, the insulation class of a specific cable route, the certificate of a specific finishing material in a specific room. All of this can be exported to schedules and specifications with one click.
